Getting here by car

We are just outside Broxburn in a little hamlet called Roman Camps.

To get here, leave the A89 at the crossroads with Station Road signposted Roman Camp/Almondell and Calderwood Country Park. Follow the road over the canal, under the M8 motorway & railway, then take a sharp right, signposted Roman Camps.

Follow the road alongside the railway line (watch out for potholes), past some houses, a factory and a yard. When you see the playpark, keep left and continue along past some more houses.

The Croft will be on your left, behind a timber fence. There is a small wooden pedestrian gate and two large wooden gates for car entry. There is a private car park with space for up to 6 cars.

Getting here by train

We are a 1 km walk from Uphall Station. The walk is along a mostly stone track and can be muddy. The route is marked on this map as “WL9 Uphall to Roman Camp”.
